Kanbayashi Shunsho family is one of Uji’s most esteemed tea producers, carrying a legacy of more than fifteen generations dating back to the Eiroku era (around 1560). Today, the Kanbayashi Shunsho family remains the sole surviving lineage of Uji’s historic tea masters, upholding over 450 years of tradition. Their enduring commitment to craftsmanship and quality continues to define their celebrated approach to tea.
Biwa no Shiro has a rich and layered taste. It features a clear nutty flavor, similar to macadamia and cashew, with a gentle woody note like sandalwood. The result is a smooth, umami rich matcha with a sweet, nutty aftertaste that lingers.
