Horii Shichimeien, founded in 1879 in Uji, Kyoto, is one of Japan’s most prestigious tea producers, famous for cultivating the last of Uji’s original seven tea gardens, Oku no Yama, tended for over 600 years. Today, under sixth-generation owner Chotaro Horii, it remains a guardian of Uji’s tea heritage, blending history, innovation, and craftsmanship.

The matcha used is stone-ground first-grade tencha tea, the raw material for Uji matcha, and the tea leaves are selected to be suitable for brown rice tea, resulting in a wonderful product with a great fragrance and vibrant color. The fragrant aroma of brown rice blends well with the aroma of matcha, making this a very popular product.
