Ippodo, founded in 1717, is a long established Kyoto tea house known for its careful selection and traditional crafting of Japanese tea. Sourced from the region’s renowned growing areas, their blends offer clarity, depth and consistency, reflecting more than three centuries of expertise.

Only available during this time of year, New Harvest Matcha allows you to savour the flavour of freshly picked tea leaves. New Harvest Matcha is distinctive in that it allows you to savour the flavour that is unique to each year’s new harvest, unlike our matcha offerings available throughout the year, each of which has its own consistent flavour that is created by blending, through a process in which the tea leaves are picked, immediately processed, and then rested through the summer to mature. Being able to enjoy the different tastes of each year’s harvest is one of the true joys of this matcha. 

New Harvest Matcha 2026 is characterised by a refreshingly light taste. The first thing that catches your eye is the colour. Its bright, vivid green colour brings to mind tea fields in spring awash in sunlight. This year's New Harvest Matcha is very easy to drink, with a wonderful, light taste. The taste comes out in its rich sweetness and refreshing aftertaste.
