The Kanbayashi Shunsho family is one of Uji’s most esteemed tea producers, carrying a legacy of more than fifteen generations dating back to the Eiroku era (around 1560). Today, the Kanbayashi Shunsho family remains the sole surviving lineage of Uji’s historic tea masters, upholding over 450 years of tradition. Their enduring commitment to craftsmanship and quality continues to define their celebrated approach to tea.

Hitoe is an exclusive matcha blend made specifically for the main store in Uji. Highly regarded for its fragrant aroma and approachable character.

Flavour Profile: Smooth and well balanced with gentle umami, a vibrant green colour.
Bitterness: Very low, making it exceptionally approachable for those new to matcha.
Body: Medium bodied with a clean, refined finish.

How to Prepare

Sift 1–2 tsp of matcha into a bowl. Add 60–80 ml of hot water (80°C). Whisk in a zigzag motion until frothy. Enjoy it straight or add milk for a creamy matcha latte.
