The Kanbayashi Shunsho family is one of Uji’s most esteemed tea producers, carrying a legacy of more than fifteen generations dating back to the Eiroku era (around 1560). Today, the Kanbayashi Shunsho family remains the sole surviving lineage of Uji’s historic tea masters, upholding over 450 years of tradition. Their enduring commitment to craftsmanship and quality continues to define their celebrated approach to tea.
Matcha Ato Mukashi is the second highest grade matcha in the Kanbayashi Shunsho portfolio.
This matcha has a sweet, dessert like aroma with a hint of vanilla. The taste is smooth, creamy, and naturally sweet, with no bitterness. You’ll notice gentle notes of dried dates, soft greens, and vanilla.
