The Kanbayashi Shunsho family is one of Uji’s most esteemed tea producers, carrying a legacy of more than fifteen generations dating back to the Eiroku era (around 1560). Today, the Kanbayashi Shunsho family remains the sole surviving lineage of Uji’s historic tea masters, upholding over 450 years of tradition. Their enduring commitment to craftsmanship and quality continues to define their celebrated approach to tea.

Matsu no Shiro offers a gentle, mellow flavor with no bitterness or astringency. It is delicately fragrant and displays a vibrant, fresh green color.

When used in lattes, its subtle green tea notes remain soft and understated, while still delivering a beautifully bright green hue.

Excellent value for money and a wonderful introduction to high quality matcha.

How to Prepare

Sift 1–2 tsp of matcha into a bowl. Add 60–80 ml of hot water (80°C). Whisk in a zigzag motion until frothy. Enjoy it straight or add milk for a creamy matcha latte.

Tasting Notes

This matcha has a very delicate, mellow matcha flavor with no astringency. It's fragrant and has a nice green color.
