The Kanbayashi Shunsho family is one of Uji’s most esteemed tea producers, carrying a legacy of more than fifteen generations dating back to the Eiroku era (around 1560). Today, the Kanbayashi Shunsho family remains the sole surviving lineage of Uji’s historic tea masters, upholding over 450 years of tradition. Their enduring commitment to craftsmanship and quality continues to define their celebrated approach to tea.
New Year’s Matcha Daifuku is a seasonal, ceremonial grade matcha crafted specifically for the New Year period, designed to be festive, smooth, and approachable.
This includes two matcha cans Tokusen Daifuku and Daifuku. Each may have small nuance differences:
Tokusen (Special) Matcha
- Slightly deeper umami and richer texture, ideal for ceremonial or celebratory servings.
- Brighter aromatic notes and a fuller finish.
Standard Daifuku Matcha
- A touch milder and more approachable — smoother sweetness for general enjoyment
