Marukyu Koyamaen Matcha Set: Matcha 40g and Bamboo Matcha Whisk (Chasen)

Marukyu Koyamaen is one of Japan’s most prestigious tea manufacturers, founded in 1704 in Uji, Kyoto, the heart of Japanese tea culture. Family-owned for over 300 years, the company is known for preserving traditional tea cultivation and processing methods.Marukyu Koyamaen supplies top tea schools, temples, and shrines, and has earned numerous awards, including multiple first-place wins at Japan’s National Tea Competition. Their matcha is widely regarded as some of the finest in the country for both ceremony and everyday enjoyment.

Japanese matcha whisk made from bamboo and its curved shape are typical of the tradition of the matcha whisk. The bamboo used at Shuchikuen is characterized by its thick, hard skin, known as golden bamboo, which is the best part of the bamboo to make a good chasen.
