Yamamasa Koyamaen is a traditional and historic tea company based in Uji, Japan, founded in 1861. They are well regarded for maintaining very high standards for their raw material, processing, and stone milling, and have won first prize 22 times at Japan's National Tea Competition
Senjin no Mukashi is a deep, full bodied intense koicha tea with a long aftertaste offering flavours of toasted seeds, roasted coffee, cocoa beans and dark chocolate with a hint of creaminess. This tea is a good choice for those seeking characteristic, instead of mild, sweet flavours. When drunk as a thin tea (koicha), the harmony of the tea’s flavours is easily disturbed, often bringing astringency and bitterness to the fore.
